“Oaklands Youth Group exists to support families by helping
lead teens to spiritual maturity in Christ."
We continue to follow our Mission, Vision and Values Statement:
Vision - To be a Christ centered community that challenges teens to:
Pursue their own relationship with Christ
Develop their spiritual gifts and God given talents
Be discerning and accepting
Recognize their roles and responsibilities in the church
Integrate into the larger church family (body)
Positively affect the non-church community
To be actively involved...all the glory of Christ
Values - Fun, Respectful, Biblical, Welcoming/Outreach, Safe, Affordable, Encouraging, Teen centered
Foundational Items - Social/fun, Teaching, Worshipping, Mentoring (with group and in church), Outreach, Service, and Community.
We are very excited about what God is doing with this Middle School Group so far. We are starting with a large group of young and enthusiastic grade six to eight students. We have been swimming, skating; we have been out to Camp Bernard for an “over-nighter”.
We have had several games like Gargon and the ever popular Funerestpalooza.
We are having fun, and the great part is that kids have been bringing their friends.
Our group ends the evening with a snack and devotional time, and at the beginning of the season, we are fortunate to have our Senior Pastor, Phil Horton volunteer his time and wisdom, followed by Dean Steinke.
Learn from each other what the Lord has taught us to date, by the way, your call to speak is coming.....
Please pray for us as we seek to teach and learn from one another to have: MORE OF HIM AND LESS OF US.
