Who: Ladies of all ages

When: Second Tuesday of every month from            September to June from 1:00-3:00 pm

What: People who cut and finish crib sized quilts           for use by Oakland's Missionaries

The Quilts for Missions Group, meets on the second Tuesday of every month from September to June in the afternoon between 1:00 and 3:00. The purpose for our meeting is to make children’s quilts to support the Missionary efforts of the chapel.

The fabric we use has been donated by many generous people and we strive to use it to produce quilts that are both useful and beautiful.  Batting is supplied by the chapel.  The work is mostly done at home.  At the meetings we plan the quilts together, encouraging each other, and making suggestions.  We also sandwich the quilts at the chapel laying them out on tables and basting ready to be quilted by hand or machine at home. We are a small group and are always looking for more people to assist us.  We have lots of fabric, but always need more workers.  A lot of skill sewing is not required, we are always happy to teach and encourage those who have not been quilting as long.  This is a good place to practice your quilting skills or learn to quilt.

Last spring as part of the Chapel's art displays our work was hung in the lobby and the fireside lounge before being sent to Mexico with Kelly and her team.

God has blessed us with our abilities and we are blessed as we make something for those so much less fortunate than we are.
